Surveying Apprenticeships

If you’re interested in starting a career in surveying but have so far been put-off by the potential cost then you may be interested to discover there is a scheme aimed at helping people just like you?

The Chartered Surveyors Training Trust (CSTT) is an independent charity helping young people become professional surveyors via an apprenticeship scheme.

If accepted, you’ll gain valuable on the job training, which you will be paid for; you’ll also attend college one day a week to undertake an advanced apprenticeship in surveying and gain a Level 3 qualification, either:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Surveying
  • Level 3 Diploma in Surveying
  • Property Maintenance BTEC

On completion of the apprenticeship and 2 years work experience you’ll be able to take the assessment to become a RICS Associate. With further study you can continue to progress to full chartered surveyor status.

To qualify you must be aged 18-24, have four GCSE’s or a UK Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)  and be able to demonstrate that you are facing a personal financial barrier which prevents you from entering the profession via the normal route.

Vvisit the site to ensure you have all the relevant information. All applications must be made via the apprenticeships.org.uk website.

Hi, I’m looking to do BTEC level 3 surveying. Would this qualification be a start up for a HNC construction. And Where can I do the level 3? READ MORE…

The level 3 could indeed lead to the HNC. You’ll need to contact your local college for further details; if they don’t run the course they should be able to advise you where it is available in your area.
