About the Scheme

The Inspire Scholarship Scheme is organised by ConstructionSkills and was created to address recruiting problems within the industry due to a lack of suitably skilled and qualified staff. The scheme aims to match motivated students with employers who appreciate the benefits of engaging staff at an early stage of their career.  Applications are accessed on merit and matched with suitable employers who make the final selection.

  1. ** Please note – The Scholarship scheme has now ended. We’ll let you know about any new programs in the future.

  2. This is now looking to be reopened for 2012. The information should be on the website within the next month or so

    • The scheme is rumoured to be restarting but there is no official word as yet.
There will be restrictions on the type of courses available for funding but it is likely that individual colleges and training providers will be allowed some flexibility – so it’s possible.

On the wider issue of scholarships and funding I would advise that you contact a college or university running a suitable course first as they may well know of bursaries and local funding schemes that are not widely publicised.

    • You can do the NVQ at any time but bear in mind this is a work-based qualification so you have to be actually working as a supervisor or be in a role where your employer is ready and able to support you as you advance.

The SSTS has no bearing on the NVQ.
